Lariats

Hello everyone, I hope your Friday is going well and you're looking forward to the weekend. I have been getting some questions on how to wear the Lariats in my shops so I thought I'd put together some ideas. Lariats are very versatile, I own several myself which I wear more than any of my other jewellery, I just love the way they hang and the little clusters of beads which make they truly special. Anyway, here are some ideas.

How to Wear Your Lariat
Lariats do not have clasps in the same way ordinary necklaces do. A lariat is a versatile long strand necklace that can be worn tied or wrapped in several ways to create variety.
Quick Tie
This is the simplest way to wear a Lariat and is suitable for all lengths evoking a casual but feminine look. Firstly, hang the Lariat around your neck with the centre at the back. Simply loop one strand over the other, just as you would when tying shoe laces then simply let the end pieces dangle. You can move the tie higher or lower to change the overall effect depending on your preference. This style can be worn with almost any top.
Wrapped Style
Place the centre of the Lariat loosely at the front of your neck. Take one end piece in each hand and wrap the Lariat around the back of your neck, crossing it over, and bringing the end pieces round to the front. Gently pull the centre strand down to the area just above your cleavage and hold it together with the other end piece then secure the Lariat by looping the remaining end strand over both. Let the end pieces hang down. This style is suitable for the medium and long Lariats and is a lovely alternative to the quick tie version.
Choker Style
Hold one end piece centrally below your collarbone. Simply wrap the Lariat loosely around your neck, once or twice depending upon the length, loosen the wrap then loop one strand over the other to secure it at the front. This style suits medium and long length Lariats and is perfect for dressing up any outfit.
Bracelet Style
Simply hold one end piece in your hand. With the other hand, wrap the remaining end piece around your wrist as many times as necessary to form a comfortable bracelet then loop end pieces together and tuck gently into wrapped strands to secure.
Belt Style
Lariats form beautiful Belts for loose casual clothing such as kaftans or linen pants during the summer months. Simply feed through the loops on the outfit and allow to hang loosely.

Don't forget, I will be giving away a Lariat on this Blog to one lucky person on Valentine's Day. If you have not yet entered and would like to, see my post for the Crimson Tide Giveaway below. I have just sold the Fall Splendour Lariat above on Etsy this week and I'm making some more for Spring so do check my Etsy Shop for more designs. I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Spreading the Love in February

Hello everyone, firstly, I must apologise for my absence, I can't believe that it's been 3 weeks since my last post . I've been feeling unwell but I'm glad to say I am much better now. Nothing beats good old chicken soup and plenty of TLC when you're unwell.

I did find some energy to visit the first bead show of the year in my area. There were less exhibitors than at other shows and choice was a bit limited but I did meet a fantastic supplier and managed to get some lovely Czech leaf beads for my Spring and Summer jewellery designs. I'm looking forward to another show this weekend, I have been told that this one will be much better.

This month I will be giving away a free necklace on this blog to say thank you to followers of Dori Jewellery. I am grateful for the support and follow and this is my way of saying thank you as well as spreading the love with Valentine's Day just next week and Link Love which I am taking part in on Facebook.
Details of how to enter will be in my next post. Enjoy the weekend.
